Black Watch competes in the Independent World division of WGI. There is no age limit, but most members are college students or college grads/working professionals. Members are expected to have previous experience in competitive color guard/drum corps. Auditions are held in September (check back soon for dates). Rehearsals are held every weekend (Fri-Sun) from November through the first weekend in May, generally in the Philadelphia/South Jersey Region. Fees vary from year to year based on estimated costs, but in general, are comparable to other Independent World guards. Beginning in mid-January, the color guard usually has a competition every Saturday, competing locally in the TIA circuit and travelling 4 times a season to WGI regionals and championships. The season ends on the first weekend in May. Housing is provided on weekends to those members who are travelling from out-of-state.

ABOUT THE GUARD
The Black Watch Color Guard, based in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, competes in the Independent World division of the Winter Guard International and NJA circuits. Black Watch will be celebrating its 42nd anniversary in 2008.

Black Watch has had a long and successful history in the color guard activity. Each year, the guard strives to be artistically innovative while remaining true to our signature characteristics. Our experienced, visionary staff members have led numerous WGI- and DCI-finalist and championship color guards, and our perennially talented team members make magic happen on the floor every year.
